Olivia’s Therapeutic Style

Olivia’s approach is warm, person-centered, and trauma-informed. She believes therapy works best when clients feel respected, understood, and actively involved in the process.

She takes time to understand each client’s full story, including their background, current challenges, and hopes for the future. Sessions balance emotional exploration with practical skill building, helping clients develop tools they can apply in everyday life.

For some clients, a structured and time-limited approach feels most supportive. Others benefit from longer-term work that allows for deeper exploration. Olivia works collaboratively with clients to determine what structure feels most helpful.

Olivia brings curiosity, empathy, and gentle guidance into sessions. She helps clients reflect on patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and move toward change in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.

Perspective and Philosophy

Olivia believes therapy is a collaborative process rooted in compassion, trust, and care. She holds the understanding that early experiences of care shape how people learn to care for themselves, and this perspective informs her focus on building safety, self-compassion, and resilience within the therapeutic relationship.

She views therapy as a space where clients can explore their history, present challenges, and goals while developing insight and effective coping strategies in a supportive and respectful environment.

Special Interests and Strengths

Olivia has a strong interest in trauma-informed care and in supporting those who carry significant responsibility for others, including caregivers, military members, and first responders.

Her background working with children and youth allows her to offer thoughtful behavioural and emotional support to younger clients. In her work with couples, she focuses on communication, connection, and navigating shared stress.

She is especially attuned to how stress, trauma, and cumulative demands can affect emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of identity.
