Online DBT Emotion Regulation Group Therapy for Adults in Ontario – Starts November 20

Our DBT Emotion Regulation Skills Group helps adults (18+) across Ontario build tools to understand, manage, and balance emotions.

Over 8 weeks, you’ll learn evidence-based strategies from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to strengthen resilience, reduce reactivity, and create more emotional balance — all in a supportive virtual group environment.

Group Details

Start Date: Thursday, November 20, 2025

Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (2-hour sessions)

Duration: 8 weeks (weekly sessions)

Format: Virtual group therapy (secure, private platform)

Facilitator: Dawn-Amber Hilton, Registered Nurse providing Psychotherapy

Cost: $80 per session (receipts provided for insurance submission)

Eligibility: Adults (18+) living in Ontario

 

Payment & Insurance Info

Each session is $80. Participants receive a receipt that can be submitted to their insurance provider. Many insurance plans in Ontario cover psychotherapy provided by Registered Nurses — check with your plan to confirm.

Please note: Dawn’s practice is supervised by a registered social worker, which will be indicated on your receipt for payment. We recommend you share this with your insurance provider when inquiring about coverage.

In this group, the focus is on emotion regulation skills. You’ll gain step-by-step tools to:

  • Recognize and label emotions effectively

  • Decrease emotional intensity and overwhelm

  • Balance emotional and rational thinking


What You’ll Learn in the Emotion Regulation Skills Group

Over 8 weeks, you’ll practice DBT emotion regulation skills in a supportive, small-group setting.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Understand the purpose and function of emotions

  • Reduce vulnerability to intense emotional states

  • Build positive emotions and increase resilience

  • Apply skills to manage emotional triggers and reactivity

  • Create balance between acceptance and change in everyday life
